You probably want some elaborate story about this beer, so here goes:
Meet OGER our flagship IPA. A one of a kind, well balanced IPA with a smooth drinking body of Golden Promise and caramel malts, bursting with Citra Hops. Hazy and juicy before the craze! Oger is best enjoyed colder than a well diggers ass!
6.5% ABV // 65 IBUs
Although Hunyuck has only been huckin' hops for about a year, the seeds of its inspiration were planted decades ago.
Enter Dave. Growing up in the most ornery region of Northern Minnesota, (where the only real seasons are hunting and fishing and where red plaid is always in style), young Brew-Master, Dave met his fair share of characters with stories to tell over a beer or two-elve pack. And so, Dave’s Hunyuck spirit was born of these experiences and those gruff personalities, who valued doing things the right way, their way, the Hunyuck way.
Fast-forward to when young Brew-Master Dave wasn’t so young anymore and was busy becoming a character in his own right. Sharing his own stories over beers that were good, but not great. Those beers, along with Dave’s Hunyuck spirit, eventually drove him to the homebrew store to do better (actually his brown, 70’s era GMC Jimmy did, but that’s a story for another day).
Enter DJ. Over the years as Dave was honing his brewing skills, his childhood friend (more like family), DJ, was busy tasting Dave’s creations and offering his feedback, praise, and mug for another taste; just to be sure. By Christmas 2015 and one Mr. Beer kit later, DJ was also hooked on brewing and busy collaborating with Dave on how to bring their great beer to the masses. So, after many conversations and many-many batches of beer and many-many-many painstaking hours of beer tasting, Hunyuck Brew Co. was born (at least on paper)! But with the support of our lovely, supporting, totally awesome, supportive, beer-appreciating (did we mention supportive?) wives, and our extremely supportive family and friends, our dreams of bringing our beer to the masses is coming closer to delicious fruition.
While Hunyuck is still very small, our ambitions are anything but. We're making the beer we like; the beer we know those Hunyucks up north would like (and by like, we mean, love; or at least give a stoic nod of approval to).
Ask around for Hunyuck. You'll find it (eventually) and You’re Gunna Like It!
